Glenavon pair in line for debuts

GLENAVON manager Gary Hamilton will be hoping to give debuts to Ciaran Caldwell and Tony McNamee when league leaders Ballymena United travel to Mourneview Park for tonight's Danske Bank Irish Premiership clash (7.45pm).

Caldwell signed from Cliftonville last Thursday but didn't feature in last Saturday's 3-3 draw with his former club or Tuesday's 3-1 League Cup win over Lisburn Distillery. McNamee joined the Lurgan Blues from Derry City on Monday night and is the third ex-Candystripes player in the Glenavon squad, following in the footsteps of Eddie McCallion and Ciaran Martyn. Glenavon face a tough challenge this evening with Glenn Ferguson's men perched at the top of the league table with three wins and a draw in their opening four games.

Fourth-placed Portadown, meanwhile, make the trip to The Showgrounds to take on 10th place Coleraine (8pm)

The Ports will be eager to build on their impressive 3-1 win over Crusaders last weekend, while Oran Kearney's men registered their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Warrenpoint Town.
