Boyce off the mark

FORMER Cliftonville striker Liam Boyce scored his first goal for new club Ross County on Saturday, but couldn't prevent them losing 2-1 to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

Boyce scored with a close range header in the 81st minute having come on as a 73rd minute substitute.

Boyce did not figure in the club's previous game, a 4-0 away defeat to Partick Thistle and had only five minutes in the opening game which was a 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone. Ross County manager Derek Adams said: "From our point of view we scored a good goal from Liam Boyce. It's a good cross from Joe Cardle, but we didn't have the urgency in the last 10-15 minutes to score that second goal."
