New Zealand rider Bruce Anstey continued to set the pace in practice for this year's Isle of Man TT races yesterday.

The Padgett's Honda rider had the fastest lap so far this week when he clocked up an average speed of 130.860mph during last night's practice session for the Superbike class.

Anstey (pictured), who was following Michael Dunlop on his flying lap, topped the leaderboard after

Dunlop ran out of fuel with less than half-a-mile to go, with Dunlop's average looking set to break the 131mph barrier if he had made the finish.

Second fastest was John McGuinness - also on a Honda Superbike - at 129.395mph, then crowd favourite Guy Martin on the Tyco Suzuki third fastest in the Superbike class at 129.164mph.

In the Superstock session, James Hillier on a Kawasaki set the fastest lap at 126.243mph, with Michael Dunlop on the Buildbase BMW second quickest at 125.840mph - just marginally quicker than third fastest Michael Rutter, also on BMW, at 125.325mph.

Not for the first time, Enda Kennedy proved his golfing ability as he squeezed Rosapenna into the matchplay stages of the AIG Irish Senior Cup after the Ulster qualifying stages, writes Tony McGee.

It was a nail-biting wait for last year's All-Ireland finalists before they learned that they had got through to the first knockout round on June 29.

Rosapenna, Castlerock and Portstewart all finished level in third place on 308 with an election style countback needed to determine which two teams would edge through.

When the 'ringed' cards were dropped and the re-count completed, the host club could celebrate as the members' best three cards ousted Castlerock from third place before the latter then snatched the last qualifying spot, putting Portstewart into fifth position and out of the championship.

Thanks to a one-under-par 71 by plus-one handicapper Kennedy, Rosapenna had a three-card total of 228, one stroke better than Castlerock while Portstewart missed out on 230.

Rosapenna will have a home venue again when they face City of Derry on June 29 while Foyle and Castlerock clash.

St Catherine's, Armagh claimed their second Ulster Colleges' title in a week, adding the Year Eight crown to last week's U14 title with a 4-5 to 1-2 win over Cross & Passion, Ballycastle.

Orla O'Kane and captain Faye Fitzpatrick scored goals in the opening half and they led by 2-2 to 0-1 at the turnover.

Although Caoimhe Laverty scored a goal early in the second half for the north Antrim school, St Catherine's responded immediately with a goal from Megan McShane and before the end Caoimhe Donnelly flashed home a fourth major to secure the school's first title at this level.
