Golf

Gary Wardlow will take poll position today at Castlerock for the PGA Race to the Rock final as the top 20 qualifiers battle it out for the title, writes Tony McGee.

Queen's University attaché Wardlow has been in top form over the past weeks. He won the final round of the Ping PGA Grand Prix, at Ballyliffin, to top the Order of Merit, one point ahead of Damian Mooney, and win the Conor Mallon Memorial Trophy. Wardlow backed that up, next time out, by topping the leaderboard after the UGA outing at St Patrick's Golf Club, Downpatrick.
