UAF identifies need for more angling coaches

FOLLOWING a review of angling in northern Ireland, it was clear to the Ulster Angling Federation that they needed more coaches to help introduce more people into angling. With help from Sport NI, the UAF intend to identify and train coach educators over the coming months. This should in turn lead to more people from the clubs being able to take on a coaching role and encourage disabled, juniors, women and people from disadvantaged backgrounds into angling. The UAF is seeking to appoint

experienced coaches to be trained as coach educators through the 1st for Sport/ Angling trust scheme. While the positions are voluntary, they could lead to some personal financial reward.

Key competencies required are:-a good knowledge of angling; good interpersonal and communication skills and good written and presentation skills. Application forms are available from www. ulsteranglingfederation.com. The closing date is February 28.
