Donegal SHC final: Burt.........................................3-13 Setanta...................................2-14 Favourites Burt took yet another Donegal senior hurling championship but only after surviving a spirited second-half rally from Setanta.

It all looked so easy for the champions after three first half goals from Stephen Gillespie, Niall Campbell and Stephen Boyle established a firm platform for the winners who cantered clear in the second quarter.

Setanta sharpshooter Kevin Campbell kept his side in touch in the first 20 minutes as Burt led by 1-7 0-7.

But quick goals from Campbell and Boyle pushed the winners to a 3-9 0-8 lead at the interval.

Setanta were playing the talented Danny Cullen in a sweeper role, but they had no real penetration up front as a result.

All that changed as Cullen was moved up front and Setanta's running game tested the Burt defence. Kevin Campbell, who finished with 2-10, smashed a 21-yard free to the net midway through the second half to signal a Setanta comeback.

Setanta were reduced to 14 men when Bernard Devine was lined and Campbell crashed home another goal two minutes from time as Burt held on. Burt scorers: S Gillespie (1-2), S Boyle (1-2), N Campbell (1-2), E McDermott (0-3),

J McGrath (0-2), J Boyle (0-2)

Setanta scorers: K Campbell (2-10, 0-7 frees) D Cullen (0-2), M Bonner (0-1), C Gallen (0-1)

Aghabog and Shane O'Neill's Camlough progressed through to the quarter-finals of the Ulster Club intermediate and junior championships next month.

Both games were one-sided. Monaghan champions Aghabog defeated Antrim side Glenavy 8-24 to 0-1. Meanwhile, Shane O'Neill's, representing Armagh, had no trouble finding the back of the net as they racked up 13 goals to win 13-10 to 5-3 against Derry champions Ballymaguigan.

Aghabog go on to face Grange, from Armagh, while Shane O'Neill's will play St John's of Antrim in the last eight. Tyrone's representatives in this year's senior club championship will be

Carrickmore after they defeated Aodh Ruadh 3-5 to 1-5 in yesterday's final at Galbally. That victory sets up a meeting with reigning Ulster and All-Ireland champions Donaghmoyne on October 6.
