Richie Towell scored two goals as Dundalk swept Shelbourne aside 5-1 in last night's FAI Cup quarter-final clash at Tolka Park. Andy Boyle, Pat Hoban and Kurtis Byrne added the other goals for Dundalk before half-time, while Lee Murtagh scored a consolation for Shelbourne.

At Richmond Park, meanwhile, goals from Ronan Finn and Shane Robinson were enough to see Shamrock Rovers past hosts St Pat's Athletic.

In the most dramatic game of the quarter-finals, an 85th minute goal from Michael Daly saw Drogheda United come from behind to draw and force a replay with Finn Harps after Kevin McHugh had given the Airtricity First Division side an early lead. Harps also had Ciaran Coll sent off. q Sligo Rovers v Derry City preview P67
