Padraig Harrington's poor run of form continued last night after the Dubliner missed the cut at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina Harrington, who started the day on three over, suffered an early setback with a quadruple bogey on the par four second and also dropped a further two shots on the ninth and ended the tournament on seven over par. American Patrick Reed is the halfway leader on 11 under par.

Boxing

Top Ulster boxers will be going toe-to-toe with their US counterparts in the eighth Belfast-Beltway Boxing Classic at The Europa Hotel tonight. The Belfast-Beltway Boxing Classic is an initiative dedicated to providing support for at-risk youths through cultural exchange and international athletic competition, with a focus on the Washington and Belfast regions. Tonight's fundraiser will be the eighth time the two boxing communities have competed since the inaugural competition in Washington DC in January 2008, with the Irish athletes travelling to the States on two occasions.

Swimming

County Down's Bethany Firth is through to her third final at the Paralympic Swimming World Championships in Montreal, Canada. Swimming in heat one of the 100m breaststroke S14, the Seaforde girl cruised to victory over three seconds ahead of her closest competitor in a new personal best time of 1:20.50, knocking almost half a second off her previous best of 1:20.90. Firth (17) has already won two silver medals in the 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke.
