Arsenal eye up Higuain signing

ARSENAL are set to be busy in the summer transfer window, with the confirmation of the free transfer of France U21 attacker Yaya Sanogo set to be confirmed when his contract with Auxerre expires on July 1.

Juventus' purchase of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City is expected to leave Arsenal as the frontrunners for Real Madrid' forward Gonzalo Higuain, provided the sale is sanctioned by new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini is another said to be on Wenger's radar, although both the £20million-plus transfer fee and wage package could prove a stumbling block. Higuain had been a long-term target for Juventus, but would now appear to be on the verge of heading to England. The forward's brother Nicolas Higuain said: "If Tevez joins Juve, is Higuain closer to Arsenal? I think so. "Juventus is a great club, but Gonzalo is too expensive for them. Napoli are a strong team. Having said that, I cannot deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal."
