Flynn is laying the foundation for success
Here, the company outlines their philosophy of building and maintaining standards.
What do you do?
Flynn is one of the leading building and maintenance businesses in Ireland. We are main contractors on new-build and refurbishment projects in health, education, housing, commercial and retail across the island and have over 40 years' experience of delivering excellence.
A family business, with its roots in providing personal service to clients, Flynn never lose sight of the fact that we exist to serve the community in which we are based, be that housing, schools, hospitals or roads.
We take our responsibilities seriously and rely upon our hard-earned reputation for honesty and integrity in maintaining the difference to less customer-focused businesses
Flynn has continued to grow strongly and, against the general decline, our share of the market has increased due to our commitment to quality, accountability and efficiency which we share with our clients.
The company currently employs more than 240 staff, qualified in all the trades required to deliver our services, and backed up by a fully resourced administration team at our Belfast HQ.
What type of roles do you have available?
Flynn has a diverse range of career opportunities for professionals, skilled tradesmen and apprentices.
Within our HQ, in addition to careers in construction related disciplines, there are also opportunities in HR, Finance, H&S and Business Development. My role in particular entails communication with all departments across the business and the scope of responsibilities differ day to day incorporating tender bids, marketing, award applications and brand communications.
Why should a jobseeker apply for a job with your company?
Flynn is multi award winning in the field of training and career development.
As a family owned business, it places people at the centre of its values. This focus on people drives the industry leading innovation in Training and H&S.
Having successfully navigated through economic hardship that saw many competitors cease trading, Flynn has a strong standing in the local construction market, moving into the private sector with ventures in retail and housing.
This offers potential jobseekers a diverse working environment with a blend of colleagues and wealth of experience to learn from.
What application advice would you give jobseekers?
Invest in yourself and develop your skills. In a competitive industry, your CV needs to stand out and sell your unique skills which will enhance both the role and company.
When you reach the interview stage, be assertive, sell yourself with the confidence that you can and will deliver in this role.
If you don’t have the faith you can do the job, neither will prospective employers.
