Abortion to remain illegal in the north

An amendment to a British government bill which could have seen abortion made legal in Northern Ireland was yesterday withdrawn.
The issue last week saw the four main parties in the north united when they co-signed a letter which was sent to all MPs opposing plans to extend the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland.
