Video: Baked eggs recipe

To mark National Bread Week why not try this delicious recipe for baked eggs.


Preparation: 10 minutes


Cook: 18-20 minutes


Serves 6

6 slices of medium white bread


35g butter


1 tsp half fat crème fraiche


1-2 slices of ham


6 eggs

Press six  slices of medium white bread with a rolling pin and spread one side with 35g softened butter.

Cut each in half and press 2 pieces into a hole of a muffin tin, butter side down, repeat to make six baskets.

Spoon 1 tsp of half fat crème fraiche in each basket, top with 1-2 slices of ham, torn into small pieces and crack in a medium egg into each.

Sprinkle with a little grated Parmesan and bake for 18-20 minutes until the whites have just set but with a slight wobble.
