THE new manager of the Cavan senior footballers Mattie McGleenan has made the first appointment to his back room team.

The former Tyrone player, who was ratified as the successor to Terry Hyland at the Breffni helm earlier this month, has looked to his own club by appointing fellow Eglish man Lorcan Martin as senior trainer for the forthcoming season. Martin has previously worked with Fermanagh, Tyrone U21s and the St Patrick's, Cullyhanna club in Armagh.

Cavan stated on Tuesday that a few more announcements will be made later in the week regarding further appointments to McGleenan's team.
