SEAMUS 'Banty' McEnaney has been appointed as Monaghan manager for a second time, The Irish News understands.
He was appointed last night to succeed the long-serving Malachy O'Rourke, who won two Ulster titles with the county in 2013 and 2015.
It's understood that McEnaney's backroom team will contain former Down forward Conor Laverty, who worked with the St Michael's Enniskillen team that won the Hogan Cup earlier this year, after which he joined the Derry backroom team for the summer.
The Irish News also understands that former Tyrone coach Peter Donnelly will be involved in some capacity.
McEnaney's first spell ran from 2004 until 2010, after which he had terms in charge of Meath and Wexford.
