1961: The shortest British title fight on record took place in Nottingham. Defending lightweight champion Dave Charnley knocked out David Hughes 40 seconds into the first round of their title fight.
1971: Ted MacDougall scored nine goals for Bournemouth in the first round of the FA Cup against Margate - the most scored by a player in the competition proper in a single match.
1982: A record 15 footballers were sent off, 12 in FA Cup matches and three in the league.
2000: Former Hearts boss Jim Jefferies was appointed as the new manager of Premiership strugglers Bradford.
2005: Bellaghy set up an Ulster final date with St Gall’s following a 0-11 to 0-9 win over Cavan Gaels in Omagh.
2010: Latton pushed Burren all the way in the Ulster Club Championship semi-final with Shay McArdle’s goal proving crucial for the Down side in their 1-10 to 0-11 win.
