OFF THE FENCE

What were your highlights - or low points - of the sporting weekend?

Michael Conlan and Andy Lee boosted Irish professional boxing with good wins in New York at the weekend.

Can either Irish fighter go all the way to the top in the toughest of all sports?

What do you think?

In League Division Two, Derry were on the wrong side of a high scoring encouter with Galway. Although the Oak Leafers registered 2-15, the concession of 5-15 is a worry for manager Damian Barton.

On Saturday evening, Donegal made it 17 wins on the trot in Ballybofey when they convincingly beat Division One table-toppers Tyrone 0-12 to 0-6 and Eamonn Burns' Down fell to a home defeat against Kildare, the game ending 2-9 to 0-10 in favour of the Lilywhites.

Fermanagh enjoyed a much needed victory against Clare, the game finishing 0-18 to 1-10. The two points moves the Ernesiders off the bottom of the table with Derry slipping into that position.

Armagh ended Louth's unbeaten record with their 3-15 to 0-11 win putting them firmly in the promotion picture, while Antrim eased their relegation fears with a two-point defeat of Laois on a 1-10 to 0-11 score line.

The Saffrons win moves them onto four points in the Division Three table with two games remaining against Armagh and Longford.
