Gallagher on course to make Celtic Park clash

Neil Gallagher appears to be winning his fitness battle for Sunday's Ulster Championship tie with Derry, writes Brendan Crossan.

The big Glenswilly midfielder injured his ankle in training a couple of weeks ago, but manager Jim McGuinness remains hopeful he will be able to play against the Oak leaf County. "Neil is improving well with the medical team. It will be a wait and see situation... everyone else should be fit," McGuinness said this week.

Rory Kavanagh was sent off in the Division Two league final and is ruled out through suspension, so Donegal have to find a replacement at midfield. If Gallagher doesn't make it, Martin Mcelhinney is likely to be paired with his St Michael's clubmate Christy Toye at centrefield.
