Fitting recipient for charity poetry book

IT IS not uncommon to family notices in The Irish News including the line: family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

The trust was set up by the young man's family after he died in hit and run incident in New York in 2013.

In the five years since his death, Kevin's family and the trust they set up in his name, has helped hundreds of families repatriate to Ireland the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad.

It is clear that the trust has helped many people through emotional and financially trying times. Another example of their vital role is told in today's edition.

The family of a woman who died suddenly in Australia have launched a book of poetry, the proceeds of which are going mainly to the trust as thanks for the help they received at the time.

A target of £10,000 is almost within reach, with £7,000 already achieved. Hopefully they will achieve much more so that the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust can continue with its vital work.
