COMEDIANS Steve Martin and Martin Short are to make their Irish debut with shows in Belfast and Dublin.

The pair's Funniest Show In Town At The Moment tour will visit Dublin's 3 Arena and Belfast's SSE Arena.

Short and Martin first appeared together in the 1986 film Three Amigos! and later reunited for the Father Of The Bride movies.

In recent years, they have been touring as a double act.

Martin's career has spanned five decades. He made his name in the 1970s as a stand-up comedian, before appearing in films including The Jerk and Planes, Trains And Automobiles.

Short's father was originally from Crossmaglen and came to north America as a stowaway during the Irish War of Independence.

He detailed his Irish roots in his best-selling memoir I Must Say: My Life As a Humble Comedy Legend.

Short first came to prominence in the cult Canadian TV series SCTV and later Saturday Night Live. His career has also seen him star on Broadway and host his own daytime talk show

The shows will take place in Dublin on March 11, 2020 and Belfast the following night. Tickets go on sale on Friday September 27 at 10am from all usual outlets.
