A motorcyclist in his early twenties died in a one-vehicle crash in Co Tyrone early yesterday.
The young man, named locally as Ross Willetts from Tobermore in Co Derry, was killed in a collision at Ballinderry Bridge near Coagh.
Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved.
"The collision, which was reported to us around 3.30am, occurred on the Drumenny Road and involved a motorcycle.
"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or has dash-cam footage that could help police with their enquiries to contact police at Cookstown on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 409 12/07/19.”
SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone said he was saddened to learn of the fatal crash.
"I want to extend my sincere sympathies to his family and friends," he said.
"It's an awful tragedy."
Mr Willetts is survived by his mother Sharon, stepfather Clark and grandparents Jeff and Ruth.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
He was 26th person to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year and the second motorcyclist.
