A WOMAN and four men have been arrested in a police operation which has uncovered around £2,700 worth of suspected heroin.

More than 100 wraps were seized in the operation, which began on Sunday at about 7.30pm after police noticed some people acting suspiciously in the Sprucefield area of Lisburn.

Police carried out a drugs search and recovered a quantity of suspected class A drugs and nearly £3,000 in cash.

In two follow-up searches at properties in north and south Belfast, smaller amounts of suspected class A and B drugs were recovered.

Mobile phones, documents, £200 and a computer were also seized.

A 33-year-old woman and four men aged 23, 24, 25 and 46 were arrested on suspicion of offences including drugs possession and possession with intent to supply.

Police yesterday said they were continuing to help officers with their enquiries.
