IT was like old times for Westlife as they were greeted by hundreds of screaming fans as they announced details of their forthcoming anniversary tour.

During a press conference at the SSE Arena Belfast, the Irish band said they were "excited" to be back for their reunion tour and album.

Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne announced their comeback earlier this month and have now added a third date to their Belfast shows.

Celebrating the band's 20th anniversary, The Twenty Tour kicks off at the SSE Arena on May 25, with another two gigs on May 26 and 27.

Their run of live shows will take them across the UK before wrapping up on home turf back at Dublin's Croke Park on July 5.

Feehily said they had "great memories of Belfast", while Egan said "this was the right time for us" to reform, adding the "stars were aligned" for them.

The decision to get back together stemmed from a dinner between Egan and Filan a year ago.

"Myself and Shane had dinner a year and a half ago, we had a few drinks and as the drinks got more so, the reminiscing got bigger and it got to a point at the end of the night where we were almost back in dreamland," Egan told RTÉ.

"We had a chat, then left it for quite a few months, it was almost like, 'Do we talk about it again?'

"Then we had a chat on the phone and it was text messages and chats between everyone, and then we got everyone together over at Nicky's house to talk about really doing it, and that led us to here."

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am from Ticketmaster and usual outlets.
