Police await test results in Derry sudden death probe

POLICE are still awaiting the results of a post mortem examination carried out on a Derry man who was found dead in a hostel in the city.

Thomas Doherty (27), a father-of-one was found in his room at a hostel at Crawford Square in the city on Saturday morning.

A PSNI spokesman said police were treating the death as suspicious pending the outcome of a post mortem examination.

The spokesman said yesterday that while a post mortem has now taken place, they were still awaiting the results of tests.

Mr Doherty's funeral will take place today at 10am at Holy Family Church in Ballymagroarty with burial afterwards at Derry City Cemetery.
