EMERGENCY services attended Belfast City Airport today following reports of a "technical" problem onboard a private plane.
Fire crews, paramedics and the RNLI were dispatched to the airport on the outskirts of east Belfast at around 11am.
It came after an aircraft pilot requested clearance to return to the airport.
There were reports that a bird may have struck the private aircraft with 20 people on board.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), the ambulance service and RNLI dispatched a number of vehicles to the scene in case of emergency.
An airport spokesperson said there had been a technical issue with an aircraft.
"A private aircraft that had taken off requested to come back," she explained.
"No commercial flights were affected and the Fire and Rescue Service was called as a precaution."
The NIFRS later said a number of vehicles had turned out but no action was taken by their crews.
RNLI and Coastguard lifeboats were dispatched from Bangor, Larne and Donaghadee.
