Tories overtake Labour in latest Scottish poll

THE Conservatives have overtaken Labour as the second most popular party in Scotland, according to a new poll. It marks another low for Labour, once the dominant political force in the country. The Scottish National Party (SNP) remained the most popular party by far on 45 per cent. The Tories followed on 21 per cent with Labour (14 per cent) Liberal Democrats (10 per cent), third and fourth respectively. The Scottish Labour Party has just one seat in the House of Commons at Westminster after a disastrous general election saw them lose ground to SNP which won 54 out of 59 seats. [...]
