Shooting victim warned he was under threat

A MAN shot in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast had been warned he was under threat following a row with members of the Official IRA.

The 25-year-old, thought to be from the Turf Lodge area of the city, was shot in the lower leg shortly after 9pm on Monday.

The attack at Westrock Parade is understood to have followed an argument between the victim and individuals linked to the Official IRA.

A short time later the man was warned by police he was under threat from republican elements.

Following the shooting he was taken to hospital for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone who has any information about the attack to contact them.
