ONLY chief executives will have to re-apply for their jobs when the 11 new councils are introduced in April 2015. Environment minister Mark H. Durkan said yesterday that council staff will not have to go into open competition for their jobs during the biggest shake-up of local government for more than 40 years. He said all posts, apart from that of chief executive, will be filled "using procedures that are being negotiated".
