Russell Brand has said he hopes he and ex-wife Katy Perry can be friends one day.
The comedian and the US singer tied the knot in October 2010 but split 14 months later.
Brand, 42, is now married to blogger Laura Gallacher, the mother of his 10-month-old daughter Mabel.
Asked if he could ever be friends with Perry, he told Grazia magazine: “Oh yeah, I hope so.
“I’m willing and open for reconciliation, any kind.
“Because if we can’t overcome our relatively trivial personal disputes in this world, what hope is there for us?”
Brand said his relationship with Perry was “a very important and lovely time in my life”.
“I don’t regret being married to Katy at all,” he said.
“I have very positive feelings about that whole experience and Katy is an extraordinary woman.”
Brand still has a tattoo on his arm that he and Perry both had done. He said he is “going to keep” the inking, which reads “Go with the flow” in Sanskrit.
The star said becoming a father has made marriage and monogamy very important to him.
“It’s funny because marriage is such an external thing but I do think it’s good and it matters,” said Brand, who wed Gallacher in August.
He said having a daughter had also turned him into a feminist.
“It would have been a bit rich to call myself a feminist before, but having Mabel has made me one in a very simple way,” he told the magazine.
“I couldn’t consider the idea of being a woman before and now I can.
“And the thought that my daughter would be restricted, held down in any way or disqualified on the basis of her gender is one I really don’t care for at all.”
