Roberto Bautista Agut kisses goodbye to stag do after quarter-final win

Wimbledon semi-finalist Roberto Bautista Agut’s Wimbledon success has one downside – it means he will miss his own stag do.

The Spaniard beat Argentina’s Guido Pella on Court One on Wednesday to make it through to the semi-finals for the first time.

He will now face world number one Novak Djokovic on Friday.

But his victory means his friends have hit Ibiza without him this week for what would have been his stag party.

Agut, 31, is engaged to his childhood sweetheart Ana Bodi Tortosa.

Speaking after his win, he said: “I had planned to be in Ibiza right now.

“We had everything organised already. My friends, six of them, are all there.”

But he added: “It feels better to be here in London.”

All six of his stags are now planning a trip to SW19 after their Ibiza holiday to cheer him on against Djokovic.

“I think they will fly on Friday,” he said.

Agut added “if everything works well” he and Ms Tortosa are due to marry in November.

Outside of tennis, Agut is an equestrian enthusiast – devoting dozens of Instagram posts to his horses.

The men’s number 22 raised questions about his sexuality in February 2017 when he posted an image of his trainers with rainbow laces and the hashtag “stop homophobia”.

Since then he has repeatedly supported LBGT+ rights.

Ms Tortosa stays out of the limelight but is often pictured courtside at Agut’s matches.
