FOLLOWING a high-profile and historic launch in Titanic Belfast's new events space Hickson's Point, the vibrant dedicated website for the 2018 Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards has now gone live at wea.irishnews.com

It offers an easy-to-navigate path outlining everything businesses and organisations need to know about how to get involved in what is widely acknowledged as one of the premier awards initiatives anywhere in Ireland.

The 2018 Workplace & Employment Awards (it's year 12 of our initiative) has nine core categories as follows:

:: EMPLOYER FOR THE FUTURE - The world is changing. Challenging economic times, volatile world events and fast-changing technology can leave organisations vulnerable. Tell us how you’ve future-proofed your business.

:: RIGHT PLACE TO WORK - Have you a genuine commitment to environmental issues, are socially responsible and can demonstrate close links to community or charitable initiatives? We want to hear your story.

:: MANAGING TALENT - What really excites your talented people and makes them proud to work for you? If you have a uniquely innovative and effective approach to managing talent from apprentice to boardroom level, then we want to know.

:: WORKPLACE WELLBEING - Businesses with a healthy and happy staff enjoy higher levels of staff morale, productivity and ultimately profitability. How do you approach your work-life balance, health and wellbeing practices to get results?

:: WORKPLACE EXCELLENCE - What sets your workplace practices apart? Problem-solving, teamwork and leadership are the bedrocks of any excellent organisation or business. We want to know how you keep your people positive and empowered.

:: BEST PLACE TO WORK - Does your company stand tallest for providing an outstanding working environment? Let us into the secrets of how your values have led to a committed, effective and motivated workforce.

:: ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT - Entrepreneurial spirit is a gift that inspires others to become the best they can. Is there passion, positivity and ambition running through every aspect of your organisation or business? Then share that excitement with us.

:: TEAM OF THE YEAR - Teamwork is fundamental for businesses/organisations to succeed and thrive, and we want to know how you’ve built an integrated, cross-company team with a defined purpose. Why is your team an exemplar?

:: CAREER INSPIRATION - This award is open to businesses in all sectors, schools/colleges or a partnership of both. The award will focus on strong initiatives between business and educational organisations and look at what steps they are taking (individually or jointly) to enable young people to achieve the critical initial steps towards their career ambitions.
