A NORTH Belfast arts centre is holding a weekend of free arts events to celebrate its third birthday.

There will be taster sessions and workshops from 11am to 2.30pm on Saturday June17 and Sunday June 18 in the Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts where the artists in residence will share their skills and knowledge.

Free workshops range from arts and crafts, painting and drawing, photography, paper quilling to ceramics, sewing and even fashion design. There are also workshops for children.

Duncairn is known for its Big Sunday Breakfast Sessions and will be hosting one this Sunday so bring the newspaper, place your coffee order and listen to some great music.

There is only a concert on Saturday night with Ye Vagabonds and David Keenan taking to the stage.

Duncairn runs classes and workshops throughout the year and is a well known live music venue.

The arts centre is in a former Presbyterian church on the Antrim Road and has a number of young artists in residence.
