AS THE impasse at Stormont continues, Accidental Theatre takes us away from it all for a laugh and giggle at Northern Ireland's political powerhouses.

Belfast playwright Rosemary Jenkinson is back with a new addition to the successful Michelle & Arlene series of satirical plays, this time taking the political double act on a jaunt to Las Vegas for some love and show business.

"I'm delighted to be working with Accidental on a new Vegas-themed Michelle & Arlene, the third in the trilogy," Jenkinson says. "As Stormont remains empty, we can't wait to hit the stage once more with our unique blend of hilarity, topical farce and stinging satire."

In this production, audiences will see Michelle and Arlene commemorating the anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement by jetting off to New York for talks to break the Stormont deadlock, led by none other than Bill Clinton. But Arlene has a crisis and the two head to Vegas on a wild, unforgettable night.

Will luck favour them and will they settle on a deal? However the cards fall, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s going to be a crazy, hilarious ride, with more twists than the Irish border.

Maria Connolly and Mary-Frances Doherty reprise their roles as Arlene and Michelle respectively.

"I think this, the third instalment, is probably my favourite. The script takes so many unexpected twists and turns – the audience are in for one heck of a ride," says Connolly.

:: Michelle & Arlene: Love In Las Vegas is being staged at 12-13 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast from May 10-12. Tickets from Accidentaltheatre.co.uk
