THE programme for this year's Open House Festival in Bangor is being launched tomorrow with a special Festival Sundown Market on Bangor Seafront between 4pm and 10pm featuring a live turn by the Open House Festival Choir.

The month-long festival will be bringing 141 events to 42 different venues in the Co Down town between August 1 and 31. As ever, its programme covers music, literature, film, comedy, theatre, tours and visual art.

Highlights for 2017 will include Lennifest's musical celebration of the late Leonard Cohen, featuring artists such as Duke Special and Ken Haddock playing live in Bangor's Walled Garden, and an audience with Belfast-born writer Bernard MacLaverty who'll be launching his first novel for 16 years, Midwinter Break.

Rising US music star Courtney Marie Andrews (recently seen on Jools Holland) will also be performing at this year's Open House Festival, as will country blues sensations Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band and Portishead DJ Andy Smith.

See Openhousefestival.com for tickets and full festival details.
