Niall Morgan: Had no real chance with Brennan’s goal and saved well from Jason McGee later in the first half. Clipped over two points and some of his distribution was superb. Off target with kick-outs at times. 6.5

Padraig Hampsey: Picked up Michael Murphy when he operated in the Tyrone half. Has done well on the Glenswilly maestro in past but came off second best this time. 5

Ronan McNamee: Tracked Patrick McBrearty and, although he had moments of success, the Kilcar forward won the war, finishing with three points in the game. 5.5

Michael McKernan: All at sea against Jamie Brennan. The Bundoran man got a run on him for his goal. Also had spells on Gallagher and Oisin Gallen. Soldiered on until the end. 5

Tiarnan McCann: Not in the game in the first half and was clearly wound up and fired-up for the second period. Boiled over with inexcusable show of aggression against Stephen McMenamin and he’s sure to be sanctioned for it. Hobbled off with an injury. 4

Ben McDonnell: Operated as the spare man at the back but never looked comfortable against Donegal’s pacey runners. He made way from Darren McCurry in a second half reshuffle. 5

Brian Kennedy: Had no time to find his feet and struggled to make a real impact on the game although he did try hard. 5

Colm Cavanagh: Seemed caught between two stools. He wasn’t used as a sweeper but couldn’t break Donegal’s dominance in midfield either. Replaced by Sludden at the interval. 5

Richard Donnelly: Scored two points, one early, one in the second half and had a goal chance too. He was out-manouvered around midfield where Donegal reigned supreme. 5.5

Mattie Donnelly: Could not break free from the attention of limpet-like Donegal man-marker Stephen McMenamin. They both scored a point. Dwelled on the ball too long at times. 5

Kieran McGeary: Was in the eye of the storm and he battled hard, particularly in the first half when Donegal attacked down the middle in waves. Did his best to get on the ball and breathe some energy into his side and scored a fine early point. 6

Frank Burns: Responsible for tracking the runs of Eoghan Ban Gallagher who gave him the slip for the Donegal goal. Burns wasn’t able to get into the game. 5

Cathal McShane: A bright start proved to be a false dawn. Carried the fight to Donegal and top-scored with four points but only one from play. The supply line was reduced to a trickle by the second half but he remained stationed in front of the Donegal posts. 6

Peter Harte: Early goal chance blocked by Ryan McHugh. Black-carded for crude push on same player, should have been a yellow. 5

Liam Rafferty: Thrown into the cauldron and worked hard without being able to change the course of the game. He’ll have better days. 5

Substitutes:

Connor McAliskey: Black card replacement for Harte. Rarely seen as an attacking threat until the dying seconds when he blazed a shot wide. 5

Rory Brennan: In for Rafferty at half-time. Picked up his namesake Jamie who had the damage done by then. 5

Niall Sludden: Tyrone missed his creativity and workrate in the first half. Replaced Cavanagh for the second. 5

Darren McCurry: Put his hand up for a starting spot next time out. Three points in the second half including two crackers from play when the going was tough. 7

Michael Cassidy: Surely the Ardboe wing-back was made for a game like Saturday? Left out of the starting line-up but replaced Burns after 52 minutes. Scored a point when he had a glimpse of a goal. 5

Aiden McCrory: In his prime the Errigal Ciaran clubman could have made a difference. On for injured McCann after 56 minutes. 5
