FOOTBALL fans in Belfast were in a frenzy yesterday as Manchester United legend Eric Cantona was spotted sightseeing around the city.

The Frenchman was seen taking in some of Belfast's tourist spots yesterday after his 'An Evening With..' event on Monday night at the Waterfront Hall.

Cantona posted a picture on his Instrgram account of him standing beside a Sandy Row mural of another famous Manchester United number seven, Belfast's very own George Best.

Excited Manchester United fans also shared photos of the famous striker online as he popped up at various locations around the city.

'The King' paid a visit to west Belfast where he saw some of the murals at International Wall on the Falls Road, and was also spotted on Springfield Road.

Cantona posed for a picture with St James' Swifts player Sean Pat Donnelly, who was all smiles upon meeting the former Premier League ace.

And the 52-year-old had a selfie snap with a fan outside a barber shop on Falls Road.

Cantona also dropped by at Deanes Meat Locker on Howard Street in the city centre and had his picture taken in Love Fish.

Paul Heron, manager of Deanes Meat Locker, tweeted a photo of himself with the former footballer, saying that it was "great to look after Mr Eric Cantona".

On Monday night, football fans enjoyed the event 'An Evening with Eric Cantona – The Return of the King' at the Waterfront Hall where he regaled tales of his glittering soccer career.
