Allison Morris began her reporting career more than 15 years ago, working in the weekly newspaper industry.

She joined the Irish News in 2007 and since then has gone on to collect several awards for her work.

They include: NUJ journalist of the year 2010, Society of Editors news journalist of the year 2011 and CIPR columnist of the year 2014.

Allison is also a regular columnist for The Irish News.

Two sisters, who reported that they had been sexually abused as children by a leading republican, have said they regret ever going to the police following a damning Police Ombudsman's report which revealed the RUC had information in 2000 which was never acted on.
