Marriage is not a right

NO-ONE - man, woman, heterosexual or homosexual - has a right to marry. It is a choice. No-one therefore can claim equal rights to a right that does not exist.

Equally, no-one has a right to have children. Therefore there can be no basis to any claim for equal rights to adoption, whether from heterosexuals or homosexuals, whether single, married or co-habiting. Marriage is not a rights issue; neither is it an equality issue. We are not all equal or equally qualified.

I cannot go to church tomorrow and say Mass.

I have not been called to the priesthood. I am not qualified.

I cannot go into a university and start lecturing on nuclear physics. I am not qualified. Marriage is a union between a man and a woman who join together to become one flesh for the procreation and education of children.

Two men or two women joining together cannot procreate. They are not qualified.
