GAA needs to use a little bit of logic

IF THERE is logic applied to the Casement Park problem; traffic on the Andersonstown Road is difficult even without traffic generated by match-day spectators; the height of new stands will put the residents in shade; parking in the area is nearly non-existent. Logically, the GAA, should sell the Casement Park site and buy a greenfield site that is close to motorway and rail connections. Combined with money already available, the money from the sale of the current site should be more than sufficient to develop the new ground. There is also the point that there is a great shortage of social housing in west Belfast, the cleared Casement site would provide maybe 100 new houses for those in need.

As for the green field site; there is a huge piece of land beside the Monagh by-pass; there is land in the old King's Hall complex; the city council might consider selling the pitches in Boucher Road area.

Finally, there is the reclaimed land at Giant's Park, that could accommodate both parking and space for a stadium.
