Assembly's horrific quick-fix 'solution'

THE news that the Stormont Assembly is to propose changes to allow abortion of babies diagnosed with life debilitating conditions as well as those conceived by rape and/or incest is a horrific prospect.

What is in fact needed are resources directed to such organisations as the Pre Natal Hospice Movement and not the quick-fix 'solution' of abortion which those of the political or ideological left see as the panacea to saving the health service on babies who - as they see - for all intents and purposes as better off dead.

And for the likes of David Ford to state that this won't facilitate the extension of the 1967 act here, I'm sure that even now, forces are working to make this a reality, as well as the use of euthanasia in order to free hospital beds - we are now seeing this in England with the odious Falconer Bill.

Jim Wells deserves our support in standing up to such a negation of humanity's most vulnerable.
