NOW that the secretary of state has reinforced what every sensible person already knew, that there is no further negotiation on welfare reform, perhaps those intransigent politicians will wake up to reality.
Given the fact that Northern Ireland cannot raise enough revenue to support itself and we are reliant on the block grant from the exchequer, it really is a no-brainer to continue biting off the hand that feeds you.
