THE queen of England has shown unionists they have nothing to fear either from the Irish or Pope Francis and the president of Ireland has fulsomely all but rejoined the British Empire. Reassurances aplenty then all round, except for Irish nationalists in the six counties. There was one question the president didn't ask so I'll ask it now: can we have our united Ireland now please? Nationalists have surely been made to wait for long enough. How long must one community be made to wait for the unity of our country while the other has to be interminably reassured that they would be fine in a united Ireland?
