Damagedreputation

I n The Irish News editorial (October 28) "Gesture damages army's

reputation" you seem to imply that the British army had a reputation that might be damaged by nazi-style salutes in front of loyalist flags. surely The Irish News should be the last paper to suggest that the British army had a reputation that comes anywhere near being good. The truth is the forces of the crown are known throughout the world and especially in Ireland as being murderous and ruthless when there is any threat to the crown.

I'm afraid that the good name of The Irish News has done itself no favours by this section of its editorial.
