McMullan B.Sc inquired yesterday about the 'long delayed' National Board audit of Safeguarding in Down and Connor. It was the decision of the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church to include Down and Connor in the recent tranche with the review taking place in May. all of the dioceses and religious orders in this tranche have yet to publish their reports. The Down and Connor Safeguarding office in an open, transparent and accountable fashion has already published the findings of an independent external review of cases of alleged clerical abuse back in october 2011 and are about to publish their annual report of safeguarding tomorrow both of which will be accessible through the website www. downandconnor.org/safeguarding
