I WoULD ask republicans in north Lurgan, Kilwilkie and Lurgan Tarry areas to remove the Tricolour flags fastened on lampposts. The national flag should be treated in a very respectful manner and should not be placed in such locations. The people of Ireland, nationalists and republicans, are rightly proud and comfortable in their sense of being Irish and unlike others do not require flags on lampposts to give them a sense of their identity.
