We must all take care on roads

A MOTORCYCLIST became the latest fatality on our roads yesterday after he was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the Coast Road near Larne yesterday.

Despite the attendance of the air ambulance the man died, bringing the number of fatalities on the roads this year to 21. While the statistics indicate a lower death toll, by seven, than this time last year, yesterday's victim is not a statistic, he is a person who will be missed by a family.

This latest tragedy should act as a warning for all of us to be careful on the roads, no matter what mode of transport we use, including pedestrians.

No matter how 'good' the statistics are, one death is one too many.
