Concern over tragic case of Conor Moore

THE deep concerns expressed by Conor Moore's father after the 24-year-old was found dead at his west Belfast home earlier this week deserve to be treated with the utmost seriousness.

Kieran Moore accepted that his son had experienced mental health problems, as well as drink and drug issues, but is convinced he was not given enough support from the authorities as he attempted to settle back into the community.

There are fears that Conor may ultimately have suffered a burst ulcer, although as we report today tests are still being carried out to establish the full background to the tragedy.

It is essential that young people like Conor who find themselves in difficult circumstances are provided with as much help as possible within the health care system as they set out to rebuild their lives.
