It is appalling that two rogue traders were not only able to dupe a pensioner into handing over £1,000 to get the driveway of his Lurgan house power washed but also left without even starting the work.
Police were fully entitled to describe the scam, which took place in the Kingsway Drive area of the town on Tuesday, as the `sickening exploitation of a vulnerable 79-year-old man.'
The perpetrators need to be brought to justice and it is essential that residents in all areas are on the look-out for similar activity and make sure that they report suspicious individuals to police without delay.
