Thugs who terrorise elderly must be caught

IT IS impossible to imagine how an 83-year-old man has been traumatised when he was the victim of a house invasion at the weekend.

The man was held in a chair by one thug while two others searched his house in Banbridge, eventually leaving with a sum of cash.

The actions of these heartless thugs could have had immediate physical effects on a victim of such advanced years. He will also likely have suffered psychologically because of his ordeal.

This type of crime is not uncommon and there seems to be no shortage of criminals prepared to terrorise the elderly in their search for easy money.

It is essential that every assistance is given to the PSNI as they attempt to apprehend these thugs.
