Relief for Ruddy family at last

THERE will be huge relief that the remains of one of the so-called disappeared were found at the weekend.

Several searches have taken place for the body of Seamus Ruddy, originally from Newry but abducted, murdered and secretly buried by the INLA in France in 1985.

The fact that even after this length of time a search can be successful will be an encouragement to the three remaining families of such victims.

The relatives of Captain Robert Nairac, Joe Lynskey and Columba McVeigh will be hoping that they to will have the opportunity to see their loved given the respect of a dignified burial after all these years.

It is encumbent on anyone with information which help end the long search of these families to come forward.
