Justice for German murder victim

THE POLICE yesterday released a strongly-worded appeal for help in solving the murder of a young German girl whose body was discovered in a forest in county Antrim almost 29 years ago.

Addressing those who might know who killed Inge Maria Hauser, whose body was discovered in Ballypatrick Forest in north Antrim on April 20 1988, an officer stressed that it was not too late to give police any information they might have.

The PSNI statement was at pains to point out that while there are thousands of unsolved murders on its books they are convinced they are "tantalisingly" close to bringing to justice whoever ended the life of the 18-year-old from Munich.

Many of us know the worry of a young family member travelling alone abroad. For this young woman's family those worries became a nightmarish reality. If anyone can help them to attain justice, it is not to late to act.
